Penang Trip Part 2 : Kek Lok Si

Kek Lok Si, or directly translated as "Temple of Extreme Happiness", is located pretty near to Penang Hill railway station in the district of Air Itam. It's possible to walk from there.

It's one of the most famous temples around Penang island. And for me, it's the only one I managed to go.

The temple is far away. One need to go up a small hill.

The BIG DOOR.

One big temple building.

The pagoda on a side.

The statues. I didn't go in. :)

Another pagoda. There are beggars on the corridors. zzz

Another 3 statues on another smaller temple.

An upper view.

Ate this famous Air Itam asam laksa. Not bad I have to say. The sugar cane juice is a very good thirst quencher.

Guess who are these 2 people?? Hehehe...

More rest for me then. Hehehe...

God bless you all!

Penang Trip Part 1 : Penang Hill

This is the first place of interest that I chose to visit when I was in Penang island.

If you want to visit this place, just board Rapid Penang bus number 204 from Weld's Quay, or from KOMTAR.

OK, let you see how this place looks like.

The main entrance to the funicular train. Another option to go up the hill is by using jeep, at another entrance.

Platform at Middle Station. Need to change trains.

View inside the train. Pretty nice.

We're going up...

The controls of the train.

Me in the middle of people. Duh hot hot hot...

A stop called Claremont Station, usually for the jungle hikers.

Another train coming by...

Going through the tunnel.

Should be about 700 meters above sea level.

Top station! I was there!

A hillside cottage there, hazy and cloudy view of the city.

Yes, BUKIT BENDERA.

The map of the whole Penang Hill. It's actually inhabited by quite a number of people here. And I realised with my conditions I can't walk every place. How sad...

Old style train..

Pity the telephone. The phone should be OK, but the booth just shows its age. Hmm..

There's a post office there, but it's not opening!! AH! There's a police station up there too.

Some kind of roundabout there.

It's a bit a blow that I cannot go through everywhere there. There's also a hotel, fancy restaurants and food stalls. It's good for people to go up there to escape the hustle and bustle down in the city.

Yeah that's all from me now. Miri is so freaking hot. I must admit. I am sweating now.

God bless you all.

I am BACK

But I am sick. Perhaps no more now, but yeah, I am still feeling sick and not being at my best yet. Here's the story.

I was still feeling okay as soon as I embark on the journey towards Alor Star airport. However, as soon as I entered the aircraft, I suddenly felt sick.

When I reached KLIA, I started to have a whole night of diarrhea. From arrival hall, to bus station, to hotel room, diarrhea (or in more popular local saying, "oh lao sai") non-stop, THE WHOLE FREAKING NIGHT.

I even lost my appetite when I was served with awesome food and drinks by awesome MAS crews. When I got back home, I had freaking HIGH FEVER.

Sounds like a swine flu, huh?

Not really la. The health inspectors did not "arrest" me when I touch down Miri. No flu and coughs as well.

So rest assured, I should not be infected. Hmmm...

However, I did get this...

NO NO NO it is not a disease!! It's the "left overs" after a traditional Chinese treatment of "kua sha" which is kindly performed by my Mum. Yeah I must admit it worked for me very well. I have been recovering since then.

Now I just keep wondering what caused me this. Eating too much in Penang? I don't know.

Stay healthy everyone. God bless you all!

The most expensive thing I ate in Penang

Is this.

This fancy tuna sandwiches from this cafe. RM6.50!! Walao!

Which is situated right beside my hotel's lobby. Need to stay here because I need to wait for recheck-in.

Pretty pathetic, but luckily the service is top-class. However with that money, I'd rather go for another round of char kueh tiao. Hmmm...

Is that enjoying life, or pure wasting of money? Hmmm...

God bless you all!

While I was on my way....

To The Pearl of the Orient...

Look what is this bus driver doing while he was driving...

What the dut??!! Not even forget to mention that he smoked in the bus!! Walao eh...

I used the ferry to get myself to the island. Not bad I think.

Waiting for ferry at Butterworth terminal.

Inside the ferry. Can accommodate many people.

Just in case you are curious, that's how the ferry look like.

Can see the long bridge far away...

Yup, approaching Weld's Quay. Adventure begins. Hehe..

I will blog more again when I back home. Or maybe later. Anytime where I have time. LOL.

God bless you all!

Yum Yum

I ate these when I was at Sungai Petani yesterday evening.

5 bucks for 3 really tasty donuts. What more can I ask for. Simply fantastic.

I guess I really need to save up more and more for many tasty foods in Penang. That's what I crave even more. Hehehe...

Anyhow, those donuts make me feeling like this...

I don't think I will blog much about the trip to Sungai Petani for the formal dinner because it was quite boring, and not much photos taken.

But anyhow, here's just my little update la.

God bless you all!
