Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Kangar

Let me share something about the church that I attend every week in Perlis. I know this could be boring, but never mind, I just continue.

This church is located 10 kilometers by road from my hostel, which means, quite far. Along with some few brothers and sisters, we used to hire taxi to come to Sunday Mass because of the late bus schedule. A hefty 14 bucks, I tell you.

However things are going to change because Student's Affairs Department has permitted and arrange a bus for us! GOOD NEWS and PRAISE THE LORD! :)

Inside this church is very spacious but simple. Really simple.

As you can see, there are not really many parishioners in this church. The church are usually quite empty when the Mass is about to start. Only till when Gospel is to be proclaimed, then many students will come in. They are late because of the BUS. LATE BUS. Not their fault.

Other than that, I think it's very good atmosphere! Lighting was nice. Sound system is OK, and there's LCD projecting the readings and hymns. Not bad ah.

Personally I also like the priest. His name is Fr. Stanley Antoni, the assistant parish priest here. His preaching is piercing, persuasive and very well. He's also very straight-forward in speaking his mind, especially on our bad attitudes and so on. It's such a grace to have him in our midst.

Not to mention he very emphasizes on us, THE YOUTH (coming from UniMAP and UiTM Perlis )also, because we are almost 60% of the parishioners here! Don't play play. Herm....

The statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Looks old, but it's still very meaningful and symbolic for us.

Old style confessional.

Uncle is counting the donations for this Sunday. As you may see the donations are not that many.

Old wardrobe to contain the chasubles, chalice, ciborium those stuffs... All cramped into one.

Father's house. Looks there's even equipped with Astro. LOL.

There's also a community hall behind the church. It used to be the temporary place to have Mass when the church was undergoing major renovation last semester.

Even though it's small, I am still proud and thank God for being in this community. I pray that God will continue to shower His infinite blessings to our parish.

God bless you all!
